Friday Night Funkin’ has it all: rhythm battles, over-the-top characters, a weird storyline, and a dad who’s Satan with an awesome bass voice.

You play as “The Boyfriend” — yes, that’s your name — and all you want to do is date your girlfriend. Simple, right? Wrong. Her dad is a washed-up rock star with serious anger issues, and he’s not cool with the idea of you dating his daughter. So, how do you win him over? Freestyle rap battles, of course.

The vibe? A mix of Funk, Fear, and Reminiscence

The visuals are super cartoony, the music is more powerful than it needs to be, and every week there are new characters who want to fight you, kill you, or both. It feels like an old-school Newgrounds craze — and I mean that in the best way.

The pressure builds quickly. You're bouncing along one second, and the next, your fingers are doing gymnastics to try to keep up. Nervousness? Real. Joy? Even more real.
