Exorcist Pianist

Introduction to Exorcist Pianist

Exorcist Pianist is an innovative typing game that merges the thrill of battling inner demons with the melodious challenge of playing the piano. Developed during the Ludum Dare 55 game jam under the theme "Summoning," this game invites players to engage in a musical duel against their subconscious struggles. As you face off against your demons, you’ll discover that music is not just a form of expression, but also a powerful weapon in your fight for sanity.

How to Play

In Exorcist Pianist, your goal is to confront and destroy the demons that emerge from your subconscious. When a demon appears on the screen, you must play the corresponding sequence of notes on the piano to defeat it. Each successful note played will weaken the demon, but beware—the longer you take to eliminate them, the more your sanity diminishes, represented by a red bar beneath the piano.

To maintain your mental stability, it’s crucial to keep this sanity bar low by defeating demons as they appear. As the game progresses, the intensity of the sequences increases, adding to the challenge and excitement. Your objective is to survive long enough to complete the game, offering a rewarding experience regardless of whether you win or lose.

Controls

  • Use the numpad keys (0-9) or the number keys (0-9) to play the piano sequences.
  • For a more traditional feel, you can use the keys A-; instead of the number keys, though this is less recommended for optimal gameplay.
  • If you have a MIDI controller, you can connect it for a more immersive experience. In case of any technical issues with the web version, downloading the game is a viable option.
  • You can also press 'C' to toggle a nostalgic CRT effect, enhancing the game's visual aesthetics.
